I Yii Kakimat (Try Hard) Award in memory of Cori Lynn Big Crow - Fall (152)
This award is made possible by Roy and Aileen Bear Chief in memory of their daughter, Cori Lynn Big Crow (Iyarhe Wiya – Mountain Woman), who passed away at the age of 44 years on August 30, 2014. Born at Holy Cross hospital in Calgary on March 1, 1970, Cori was raised on the Tsuu T’ina Nation and attended school at Le Roi Daniels and Fairview Schools. She then went on to the Plain Indian Cultural Survival School. Cori worked with Tsuu T’ina for a number of years in the administrative office, Chila Elementary, Jr./Sr. High School and until her passing at the Tsuu T’ina’s finance department. She leaves behind her children, Austin, Latish, Marissa, Karice, Triston, Treyton and her two grandchildren, Tanaizah and Violet.
