Since 1952 the DDRC of Calgary has played an instrumental role with providing inclusive education for those with developmental disabilities. This award has been established to support a learner who will be graduating from the Disabilities Studies Diploma program at BVC and someone who values diversity and fostering an environment of respect, acceptance, accessibility and interdependence. The award celebrates the students' determination to create a better future for themselves and their community by working diligently towards their educational and career goals.

Criteria : 
- Provide a 250 word paragraph demonstrating your sincere and passionate goal of improving your life and the lives of those in your community. Include participation in volunteer and community activities, involvement in clubs, organizations, or committees and leadership in a supportive manner. State your career goals and how you plan to achieve them.
- Full or part time student enrolled in the Disability Studies Diploma program and has completed at least one year or 15 courses at the time of application.
- Facing financial challenges while pursuing their studies.
- Academic Accomplishment  
- Must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant residing in Calgary.
- Motivated, working to full potential, demonstrates positive attitude and has a good attendance record.
