International Student Emergency Fund - (360)
Awarded to international students at Bow Valley College that demonstrate through an interview with BVC's Awards Officer that they are in a situation of emergency financial circumstance.
- Awarded to international students at Bow Valley College that demonstrate through an interview with a BVC's Awards Representative that they are in a non-preexisting financial emergency, due to an unforeseen and unpreventable circumstance that negatively impacts their academic performance or program completion.
- According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), as part of their Proof of financial support declaration, international students must prove that they can support themselves, and any accompanying family member, while they are in Canada. Due to this reason, please note that this is a limited one time only emergency assistance, with the purpose to help eligible international students mitigate the negative effects of a current (unforeseen, unpreventable, and non-preexisting) situation that interferes with the normal course of their academic life. The value of the assistance given to approved students will be in line with the particular situation, and the funds available at the moment. When an application is deemed to be non-eligible, the applicant will not be invited to an interview, and the application will be rejected. In such a case, the applicant will also be informed through email, and the personal awards account as well.
- Eligible students may be required to bring supporting documents to the interview, before any approval can be processed.
